Part One
Dermot enthusiastically introduces washes with a beautiful evening sketch of a sailing boat on a lake and continuing with brush control encourages you that watercolor does not have to be complicated to be effective. Dermot also shows you how to create depth and recession to add that extra touch of interest to your pictures.

Part Two
In his painting of an old school house, Dermot looks at perspective and composition. Together with shadows and color mixing, he explains how you can express detail and texture such as stone and brickwork, whilst still keeping your paintings simple.
